Addressing the gathering, Badal said that it was a golden and historic day for the State as LBP decided to join hands with SAD, which would not only help in rooting out the anti- Punjab and anti-development Congress party from the State but would also ensure the sustainability of the unparalleled development in Punjab. Terming the merger of LBP as homecoming for Ramoowalia, the Chief Minister said that the former Union Minister had served SAD, the country and the State when he held key positions in the Union Government.
Sukhbir pointed to the size of the gathering and said that the presence of lakhs of people in the rally indicated that people were ready to teach the Congress party a lesson. With the merger of LBP, the CM’s deputy was sure that the alliance Government would rule the State for another 50 years. Sukhbir continued his diatribe against the Congress invoking the recent string of corruption scandals in what could be seen as the initiation of the SAD’s election campaign.
