Is Kabaddi Cure for Drugs in Punjab

73.5% of Punjab’s youth is addicted to drugs. A multi million drug nexus operating under the noses of Govt. systems. The yearly consumption of alcohol in Punjab is touching 29 Crore bottles making it one of the highest per capita consumers of alcohol in the world.

Roughly 8,000 government liquor stores operate in Punjab, charging a tax on every bottle — an excise that represents one of the government’s largest sources of revenue. India’s comptroller found that liquor consumption per person in Punjab rose 59 percent between 2005 and 2010.

From past 2-3 years Punjab is organizing Kabaddi World and promoting because they think Kabaddi will help to reduce drug consumption. But Kabaddi is not safe from drugs. In Kabaddi World Cup 2011 :

  • 25% of the total samples Of Kabaddi Players received at the National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL) were Positive.

  • Australia, United States and the UK teams were suspended from Kabaddi World Cup 2011 due to players found positive in doping test.  Again players in these teams are from Punjab origin

  • 53 out of 220 were found positive in doping test.

One way Govt is promoting liquors to earns from excise  and other way tries to controls drugs by promoting Kabaddi.

So "Is Kabaddi Cure for Drugs in Punjab".

Six killed in Wisconsin Gurdwara shooting

At least six people have been killed and “dozens” critically injured by one confirmed gunman at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin, a gurdwara, in what appeared to be a hate crime in Oak Creek, a quiet suburb of Milwaukee. Gunman started shooting in the parking lot, "then entered into the temple and proceeded to open fire."The White House confirmed that a police officer killed the lone gunman and as of 6:30pm EST “the situation at the Sikh Temple was under control.”
Reports later confirmed that one of the men who arrived in critical condition and who had been operated on was the first police officer to arrive on the scene of the gurdwara following multiple “9-1-1” emergency calls. He was said to have taken down the gunman.

Shooter also presumed dead in what appears to be a hate Crime.Police were searching the suspect's home, "a short distance" from the temple, on Sunday evening, according to a law enforcement source with direct knowledge of the investigation. A single semi-automatic pistol believed to have been used by the gunman was found at the scene, along with the wounded officer's weapon, the source said.

By Sunday evening President Barack Obama issued a statement of condolence, saying, “Michelle and I were deeply saddened to learn of the shooting that tragically took so many lives in Wisconsin. At this difficult time, the people of Oak Creek must know that the American people have them in our thoughts and prayers, and our hearts go out to the families and friends of those who were killed and wounded.”

"Our dear ones and near ones are injured and hurt, and we are trying to find out what happened," said Darshan Dhaliwal, another congregation leader.

Milkha Singh - The Flying Sikh

Milkha Singh  is the most appreciated athlete India has ever produced. The interesting thing about his life is that he spent his childhood years in a village. He is also known as Milky Singh (born on 8 October 1935), who represented India in the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome and the 1964  Olympics.

His athletic career began when he joined the army at the age of 18. Here he paid special attention to athletics and started training himself for 400-metre race on tracks. All this did not go in vain. He was able to establish two new records in 400-metre and 200-metre races.

Milkha_Singh
Milkha Singh represented India in the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, where his inexperience showed. Thereafter, he won gold medals in both the 200m and 400m events at the 1958 Asian Games, clocking 21.6 seconds and 47 seconds respectively. He progressed to win a gold medal in the 400m competition at the 1958 Cardiff Commonwealth Games, with a time of 46.16 seconds. This latter achievement made him the first gold medallist at the Commonwealth Games from independent India.

Subsequently, he competed in Pakistan and his successes there earned him the nickname of The Flying Sikh.

At the 1960 Olympics in Rome, he finished second in all of his 400m races prior to the final, improving his time on each occasion. In the final event he set off strongly to the fore but was overhauled by the field and finished in fourth place, this being a decision that required a photo-finish. His time was 45.6 seconds and his finishing position was not bettered by an Indian track athlete until the 1984 Olympics, when P.T. Usha missed out on the 400 m hurdles bronze medal by 1/100th of a second.
He is married to the former captain of the Indian Women Volleyball team, Nirmal Kaur.

Indian Hockey Team for London Olympics

Hockey India today named the 16-member squad for London Olympics. Goalkeeper Bharat Chetri will lead the team with Sardar Singh  as vice captain.

Only two changes were made from the squad that finished third in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup tournament in Malaysia with striker Yuvraj Walmiki and Rupinderpal Singh being left out, and preferring

veteran Ignace Tirkey and Gurwinder Singh Chandi in their place.

Walmiki and Rupinderpal's axing was on expected lines as the duo had been struggling of late. Walmiki has also not fully recovered from the injury he sustained during the Olympic qualifying event in February though he played in Malaysia

The 16-member squad and two stand-bys were announced by Hockey India (HI) after trials at the Balewadi Sports Complex in Pune conducted June 6-7

Team:

Goalkeepers: Bharat Chetri (Captain), P. Sreejesh

Sant Ranjit Singh Dhadrian Wale and Sukhwinder Singh Case

Recently Sukhwinder Singh (Ex-team member of Sant Ranjit Singh) has put some allegations on Sant Ranjit Singh Ji Dhadrian Wale about his character and his Power in Administration. There has been few interviews from Both sides on Radio and via YouTube Videos. Here are his main allegations.

  • Police picked him up and tortured at the behest of Baba Ranjit Singh.

  • Few Questions on Sant Ranjit Singh's and His team member's Character.

  • Police Cut his hairs after receiving order from Baba Ranjit Singh.

Key details

The victim, Sukhwinder Singh (30), alleged that He was picked up by Gurdev Singh Dhaliwal, station house officer (SHO), Bhawanigarh police (Sangrur), and other cops from Banur bus stand on April 23 and tortured in custody till April 30.

The Punjab and Haryana high court had issued notices to the Punjab home secretary, Patiala senior superintendent of police (SSP) and Baba Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwala, head of Dera Parmeshwar Dwar (near Patiala), on a habeas corpus moved by Sukhwinder’s family on April 26 after he went missing.

Sukhwinder Singh was formally arrested on April 30 under Section 109 of the CRPC and released on bail from the Sangrur jail on May 2.

Dera Theft Case

Sukhwinder and his brothers had been allegedly beaten up on the dera premises after being suspected of a theft of Rs 2 crore from the dera in January 2011. Sukhwinder stated that he left the dera in February 2011, warning Baba Ranjit Singh that he would approach the media in case dera men continued to harass him and his brothers. Baba Ranjit Singh wields influence in the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal. The baba, who has reportedly gone abroad, could not be contacted.

What concerned SSP  Said

When contacted, Patiala SSP Gurpreet Singh Gill said neither was he aware of the incident nor had received any high court notice in this regard. “Even if the man (Sukhwinder) was picked up from Banur (Patiala district) by an SHO of another district (Sangrur), how would I know or be held responsible for that?” he said.

Sant Ranjit Singh has uploaded a video explaining on it and repling on these allegations.

We have collected all videos for You to find out the Truth.
