Punjab Politics is known is for switching ruling party every 5 years except 2012 when SAD-BJP alliance was re-elected.

Punjab Elections can be in November 2016

 
In an effort to combine Election calendar for 9 states, Election Commission may decide to conduct Punjab Vidhan Sabha Elections in November 2016. Currently elections in Punjab are scheduled to be held in Feb-Mar 2017. Election commission has formed a committee to evaluate its possibility.

Looking much confident Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said the SAD-BJP alliance is fully prepared to face early elections.Badal, while interacting with media persons on the sidelines of “Sangat Darshan” programme in Lambi Assembly segment in Muktsar district, said his party was ready for elections at anytime.

AAP Member Bhagwant Maan also expressed combining Election Calendar is great move from EC. Additionally November 2016 will 2.5 years of BJP led Central Govt. AAP has started preparing for upcoming elections and have expressed no concern for early polls.

Congress representative Ravneet Bittu is being involved in this move from EC. He mentioned, Combining Election Calendar descent initiative and will help to streamline polls in country. However he mentioned Congress committee will express their views about early polls.

That being said, peoples of Punjab this time expecting 3 players 2016-2017 Elections. Next big question is who will be CM candidate from all parties.

Sukhpal Singh Khaira joined AAP

 
Former Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson and MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira joined the Aam Aadmi Party on Friday 25th Decemeber 2016. Sukhpal Singh Khaira was left aside in recent changes in PPCC during appointment of Capt Amarinder Singh, Ambika Soni and Lal Singh to new positions.

Khaira has sent his resignation letter Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and mentioned about not considering him for any position in party. He also claimed that he declined an offer to be made national spokesperson of the Congress on Thursday saying he would prefer to serve as a volunteer for an “honest party” like AAP to being even president of a “corrupt party”.

AAP MP Bhagwant Mann said leaders like Khaira would always be welcomed by the party.
AAP leader in charge of political affairs Sanjay Singh dismissed allegations that leaders in Delhi were controlling the party’s affairs in Punjab.

“People like Khaira can never be happy and comfortable with any political party. He first joined the SAD, then the Congress and now he has joined the AAP. I will also be suing Khaira for levelling baseless charges against me, as the Supreme Court has already acquitted me.”, Said Lal Singh.

The SAD is also kind of igorning Khaira joining AAP and prediciting no impact to them. “It displays rank political opportunism of the AAP and utter frustration of Khehra. On the one hand, it fully exposes the total political irrelevance and marginalisation of the Congress. On the other, it shows how hollow are the claims of the AAP on principled politics,” said SAD member Harcharan SIngh Bains in a statement.

With these recent developments in Punjab politics, it being said that there will three player running for Govt. in Punjab Elections 2017.

Diwan Todder Mal and Baba Moti Ram Mehra - A remberance

 
We all know about "Saka Sirhind" where Chhotte Sahibzade (Baba Fateh Singh and Baba Zorawar Singh) of Guru Gobind Singh attained martyrdom on 26 December 1705 at a very young age.Every year on 26 December, Shaheedi Jor Mela is organised at Fatehgarh Sahib, to commemorate the supreme sacrifice at the place of their martyrdom.
In history of Saka Sirhind two men, Diwan Todar Mall Ji and Baba Moti Ram Mehra played supreme role in serving Mata Gujar Kaur and two Sahibzadas. They have shown their courage favoring Guru Ji's family inspite of cruel rule of Mughal Government.

Diwan Todar Mall was a wealthy merchant of Sirhind, who on the 13 December 1705 perforDiwan Todder Malmed the cremation of the three martyred bodies of the two younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh, Zorawar Singh aged about 6, Fateh Singh aged about 9 and their grandmother, Mata Gujari.

This incident occurred after the Sahibzade had been executed by the Mughal authorities on the 12 December 1705 for not renouncing their faith and the death from shock of their grandmother at the news of the sudden and despicable execution of the innocent youngsters. When Diwan Todar Mal ji wanted to do the last rites of Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji the Mughals asked him to buy the land for doing last rites by laying down gold coins standing up. Its said he laid down 7800 gold coins and did the Saskaar or last rites.Every Sikh bows his head in gratitude to Diwan Todar Mal ji.

Baba Moti Ram Mehra was a devoted disciple of the Guru Gobind Singh who, disregarding the risk to his own life, managed to enter the Thanda Burj in a very dramatic manner and serve milk to the Mata Gujri and BabaBaba Moti Mehra Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, the two younger Sahibzadas (sons) of Guru Gobind Singh for three nights,where they were kept under arrest by the Mughal Governor of Sirhind, Wazir Khan. Even today the Sikhs remember this great service of Baba Moti Ram ji and common saying among Sikhs “Dhan Moti Jis Punn Kamaya – Gur-Laalan taain Dudh Piaya” (Baba Moti Ram Mehra Ji’s service is great to fed milk to children of Guru Sahib).

Kabaddi World Cup 2015

 
Kabaddi World Cup 2015 would be held in Punjab from 15 November to 28 November 2015. All matches will be played in stadiums across 14 districts of the state. Few matches will be will be played at Punjab and Lahore Pakistan. 11 men’s and 7 women's team will play in kabaddi world cup 2015.The finals of the Sixth World Kabaddi Cup 2015 will be Played at Jalalabad, punjab.

S. Sukhbir Singh Badal said the cash prize for women category had been increased from 1 crore to 1.5 crore INR. In men’s section The winner will get Rs 2 crore and Runner up will get Rs 1 crore.

Sukhbir singh Badal told officers to ensure security arrangements, transportation and accommodation for the teams. This is ensured that the event is doping free. Sukhbir sanctioned Rs 20 lakh for dope tests and the National Anti-Doping Agency requested to conduct random tests during the tournament.
